As a tribute, we pay homage to the Christmas 1914 truce of World War 1 when troops from British, German, French and Belgian sides stopped fighting and ventured into no man's land to talk, exchange gifts and play football. This truce is seen as a symbolic moment of beauty, peace and humanity amidst one of the most unrelentingly violent, tragic and protracted struggles of modern history.
